PanCeltic Microbiology Meeting 2013

Thank you to all those who visited the Don Whitley Scientific stand at the recent PanCeltic Microbiology Meeting in Cardiff – and a special thanks to those who entered our competition. The winner of a blue iPod Shuffle, Rachel Chalmers from Public Health Wales, is pictured with Joe Walton, one of our product specialists.

On the stand we displayed the Whitley A35 Anaerobic Workstation with instant access ports. Visitors seemed particularly interested in a demonstration of the Anaerobic Conditions Monitoring System on this unit. We also provided information and a video of WASPLab, the complete robotic specimen processing system. Two full systems have recently been installed at: Niguardia Hospital, Milan and Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus, Québec.

For more information on our range of workstations,  a bespoke product demonstration or more details on the WASPLab installations, please contact our sales team on +44 (0)1274 595728 and we will put you in contact with the product specialist for your area.

Orders from 8 Different Countries in 1 Week

Although we have been selling our products worldwide for some years now, we had something of a record breaking week last week.

Don Whitley Scientific received orders from eight different countries in the working week of Monday, 17th to Friday, 21st June. This is the largest number of different countries that we’ve had place orders in a single week.

Products ordered included eight workstations (five Whitley A35 Anaerobic Workstations; one of the popular DG250 Workstation; one of the latest and largest in our range, the A95 Anaerobic Workstation; and a H35 Hypoxystation, the workstation designed specifically for cell and tissue culture).

We would like to thank our distributors from the following countries:

  • Spain (Nirco S L)
  • Sweden (VWR International AB)
  • Korea (Jin Sung Uni-Tech)
  • Turkey (Bentley Merkim Ltd)
  • Taiwan (Cold Spring Biotech)
  • Ireland (Davidson & Hardy Laboratory Supplies)
  • Germany (Meintrup-DWS Laborgeräte)

10 Plate Petri Dish Tags

New 10 Plate Petri Dish Racks and Tags

If you are a regular Petri Dish Rack user, you may have noticed that any new 10 Plate Petri Dish Racks delivered recently are the new stainless steel model. More robust, more sturdy and autoclaveable, these racks are ideal for stacking, sorting and storing your Petri dishes in a Whitley Workstation.

As well as the new racks, we have developed a new coloured label system that has additional advantages. As well as being invaluable in organising your plates (even within the stack) and having the facility to write on (and wipe off), these tags perform a useful security purpose – if a rack is accidentally knocked over, plates secured by this system will not spill out.

The set of Petri Dish Rack Coloured Tags includes 20 of each of seven different colours: yellow, blue, red, green, white, orange and grey tags. A colour for every day of the week!
