Dysregulated Zn2+ homeostasis impairs cardiac type-2 ryanodine receptor and mitsugumin 23 functions, leading to sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ leakage. J.Biol.Chem (2017) 292(32) 13361-13373

“In heart failure cardiac cells are known to encounter hypoxic conditions. A major advantage of the H35 Hypoxystation is that it allows for precise control of oxygen levels, similar to that found in heart failure.

The Whitley H35 Hypoxystation was used to subject H9C2 rat cardiac myoblast cells to 0.5% O2 for up to 36 hours. A major advantage of this system is that cell lysates could be collected within the unit while still under a stable hypoxic environment, therefore avoiding oxidative damage associated with re-oxygenation and allowing observed changes to be attributed to hypoxia alone.

The H35 Hypoxystation is very user friendly. We were satisfied that the unit provided a very stable atmosphere for our experiments.”
