OxyLab p02™ Dissolved Oxygen Monitor
The OxyLab pO2™ monitor by Oxford Optronix Ltd is ideally suited to direct and absolute measurements of dissolved oxygen (pO2) in controlled-oxygen tissue culture.
Based on state of the art optical fluorescence technology using fibre-optic sensors (pioneered at Oxford Optronix) the OxyLab pO2 provides several key advantages over devices based on the traditional, polarographic approach for measuring dissolved oxygen. These include:
-
Outstanding sensitivity to hypoxia and the physiologically relevant pO2 range (0 - 100 mmHg)
-
Zero oxygen consumption at the point of measurement, thus an innate suitability to continuous oxygen sensing even under conditions of hypoxia
-
Insensitivity to artefacts caused by photo-bleaching, ambient light, stirring or protein fouling
-
Ease of use, thanks to factory pre-calibrated sensors for ultimate convenience (no user calibration procedures required)
-
Absolute units for measured pO2 in a choice of mmHg or kPa
-
Automatic temperature compensation of the pO2 measurement through optional, integrated temperature sensors
-
Suitability to in situ measurements of tissue / organ pO2 in experimental models of ischaemia / hypoxia
