Dilumat Gravimetric Diluters
Dilumats are gravimetric diluters which standardise the dilution of solid and liquid samples in blender bags prior to homogenisation. Diluent can
also be added to flasks, bottles or to the bowl of a Waring Blender.
The instrument has been designed to fulfill the requirements of
regulatory authorities, giving both accuracy and traceability of results, as well as offering real time savings for the busy microbiology laboratory.
Dilumats are microprocessor controlled and consist of a load cell and either one or two pumps for dilution and/or pouring. They are user
friendly and have a LCD screen which displays parameters such as sample weight, dilution factor or programme menus. A standard printer generates a report
after each dilution which includes date, time, operator identification, sample weight and dilution factor.
A
ticket printer is also available which generates two identical stickers after each dilution; one is kept in the working file and the other is attached to the
bag containing the sample which helps to track the sample throughout the analysis.
Programming of the unit is simply achieved by following
the questions on the LCD display and giving answers on a keypad. Serial dilutions can be easily processed without additional programming. Calibration of the
unit can be carried out quickly with a calibration report automatically generated on completion.
Dilumats are easy to keep clean as the
design of both the instrument itself and the bag holder (which can be removed to aid cleaning) prevents any spillage inside the unit.
