The Whitley A35 Workstation has been developed specifically for anaerobic microbiology and will accommodate 400-600 x 90mm Petri dishes depending on whether plate carriers are used and which system options have been incorporated.
A revolutionary new porthole system allows entry to the chamber in seconds and needs neither gloves nor sleeves. Sample manipulation within a secure anaerobic environment is now as easy as working aerobically on the laboratory bench.
Features
- Built-in rapid airlock
- Intuitive, colour, touch-screen control panel
- Modern, ergonomic design
- Maximised incubation capacity
- Dual gas operation
- Automatic commissioning cycle

Options and accessories
Several options and accessories are available to tailor your anaerobic workstation to your specific needs, including:
- Removable front

- Single plate entry system
- Internal electrical socket
- Trolley
Major benefits
As well as being able to enter and exit your workstation in mere seconds, another major benefit of this sleeveless and gloveless workstation is the considerable saving on consumables such as sleeve kits and gas consumption, compared to a conventional porthole system.
NEW - Now available with fully integrated Anaerobic Conditions Monitor. This factory-fitted option monitors and displays real time oxygen levels within the workstation using coloured segments - green, amber or red - depending upon the percentage of oxygen present
When your workstation is functioning correctly the chamber/airlock symbol will be an animated striped green icon. This symbol confirms that the anaerobic conditions monitor is active and that suitable anaerobic growth conditions are being maintained within the workstation.
The yellow icon will only appear if the system detects a slight increase in internal oxygen levels. A correctly functioning workstation should return to the animated green icon within 15-30 minutes. If a red icon appears a pop-up warning message is also displayed, which must be closed by the user. A red icon could indicate a fault with the workstation’s atmospheric control system and might affect growth of the most oxygen sensitive bacterial species.
