Whitley A45 Anaerobic Workstation - Side ViewThe Whitley A45 Workstation is the first in the range to have three ports. Complete with built-in rapid airlock and an intuitive, colour touch-screen control panel, this new cabinet allows you to work completely glove and sleeve free due to the instant access porthole system. The A45 will accommodate between 600 and 900 x 90mm Petri dishes depending on whether you use plate carriers and which accessories and system options have been incorporated.

Sample manipulation within a secure anaerobic environment is now as easy as working aerobically at the laboratory bench.

The A45 features:

  • A 12-litre airlock that can be flushed with nitrogen as an additional money saving option

ALSO available with a fully integrated Anaerobic Conditions Monitor that allows you to monitor the level of oxygen inside your chamber. This factory-fitted option monitors and displays real time oxygen levels within the workstation using coloured segments - green, amber or red - depending upon the percentage of oxygen present.

When your workstation is functioning correctly the chamber/airlock symbol will be an animated striped green icon. This symbol confirms that the anaerobic conditions monitor is active and that suitable anaerobic growth conditions are being maintained within the chamber. The yellow icon will only appear if the system detects a slight increase in internal oxygen levels. A correctly functioning workstation should return to the animated green icon within 15-30 minutes. If a red icon appears a pop-up warning message is also displayed, which must be closed by the user. A red icon could indicate a fault with the workstation’s atmospheric control system and might affect growth of the most oxygen sensitive bacterial species.
