Reprogramming the Transcriptional Response to Hypoxia with a Chromosomally Encoded Cyclic Peptide HIF‑1 Inhibitor. ACS Synth. Biol. 2017, 6, 518-527

“We are studying HIF-1, so we need a hypoxic microenvironment. The experiments wouldn’t work at ambient. I like the ease with which we can regulate and change the oxygen concentration in a Whitley Hypoxystation.

We incubate for various time points, including up to several days. We also do the majority of cell manipulation in the chamber, including extracting mRNA, and isolating protein. We have also previously used a small microscope inside the H35.

It has been easy to adjust the atmosphere in the Hypoxystation and the atmosphere has remained stable over time. It’s a great instrument that has served us well for several years.”
